Nature-Based Context

The PSRT intervention is delivered in a nature-based rehabilitation setting that supports and enhances therapeutic self-regulation processes through direct nature experience.

Clarification of Needs, Values and Life Goals

Clarification of personally meaningful goals

Individual

Individual clarification of basic psychological needs, personal values and meaningful life goals based on the GLM. Development of an affectively and motivationally meaningful frame of reference.

Personality as a Dynamic System of Self-Regulation

Development of self-regulation understanding

Group

Introduction to the group format. Fundamental understanding of personality as a dynamic system. Core tenets of PSI Theory with focus on the role of affect.

Perception and Regulation of Affective States

Strengthening affect perception and regulation

Group

Perception and differentiation of bodily and emotional signals. Affect regulation as a prerequisite for self-regulated goal pursuit.

Differentiation of Perception, Appraisal and Interpretation

Reduction of automatic affect amplification

Group

Separation of situational perception, cognitive appraisal and subjective interpretation. Reduction of affect-amplifying appraisal processes.

Impulsivity and Stimulus-Response Patterns

Interruption of affect-driven impulses

Group

Analysis of individual stimulus-response patterns. Identification of early signals of impulsive action tendencies. Strategies for interrupting impulsive behavioural chains.

Self-Congruent Action and Value-Based Decisions

Alignment of behaviour with core values

Reflection on incongruent action patterns. Development of alternative, value-based action options to support autonomous motivation.

Self-regulation in everyday situations

Deepening and stabilisation of acquired self-regulation competencies through application to individual everyday situations.

Identification of stressors and high-risk contexts. Development of personalised strategies for maintaining self-regulation.

Maintaining Self-Regulation Under Emotional Distress

Stabilisation of goal-directed action

Strategies for maintaining self-regulated action under conditions of emotional distress and chronic stress.

Dealing with Setbacks as Part of Self-Regulation

Adaptive responses to setbacks

Setbacks as an integral part of dynamic self-regulation processes. Development of adaptive coping strategies.
